Overclocking The Bored Brain
Your brain is bored.
You might not feel it yet, but your synapses are asleep at the wheel. Everything nowadays is custom-tailored to adhere to trends, scale, and the freaky, highly presumptive recommendations from whatever eavesdropping AI is currently listening through your phone like a wiretap.
But because everything is so predictably optimized, we bet you could use a disruption. A random, unprompted creative thought inciting a conversation that produces an absolute mind riot.
If you actually let it.
That's the goal here. We introduce the idea, we shove you down a rabbit hole, and we leave you inspired for the better.
I remember the days when you didn't "intentionally" try to look for inspiration. You can't type into search "how to be creative."
That's weird.
Instead, you just put yourself in the direct path of the universe and allow inspiration to find you, because inspiration is chaotic. It is infinitely more random than you think, and that randomness is precisely how I have spent the last five years of my life.
The highlights of that Avatar-like journey look like this:
I was the face of Wefunder, a Y Combinator company. They didn't just build a product; they helped legalize equity crowdfunding by aggressively lobbying Congress and getting it baked directly into the JOBS ACT.
I acted as the Creative Director and Performer for a FCTRY LAb Duck Boot Campaign for NLE Choppa. The lab was founded by Omar Bailey, the previous head of the Adidas Yeezy division.
I served as a Creative Strategist for Novelle & Associates, founded by Lori Holt, an ex-Fortune 15 executive and VP of Global Operations for Cardinal Health.
We executed work that received direct praise from Loonshots author Safi Bahcall. Bro quoted me!
And currently, I produce for Taji Nahl—a 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient and a 26/27 American Academy in Rome Prize winner.
If you look at that list and think it makes no chronological or logical sense, you are correct, but that's the power of creativity.
And now, I've created my own independent Research & Philosophy show: The Inquisitive Outsider.
It is a collaboration between me and AI to aggressively play around with the presentation of high-level information in the arts, academia, and decentralized technology sectors.
But this isn't your normal, sterile lecture series. We aren't doing corporate explainers or dry word problems. Here, there is a flair for aesthetics. I am an educator, yes, but I also consider myself punk rock, deeply avant-garde…
To be honest, there is nothing more "readymade" than artificial intelligence and the internet for an educator, artist, and show-runner.
I like that. Why?
Because I want to be a net positive for the misfits like myself. We love being introduced to new pieces of information, but how we receive it is just as important. That's an acquired taste thing. We don't want to be spoon-fed, but do appreciate a nice meal that's plated well.
